New “Tree of Lights” Atop Oconee Regional Medical  Center Welcomes Holiday Season

Oconee Regional Medical Center has ushered in the holiday season with a new 28 foot tall Christmas “Tree of Lights” atop the hospital’s Park Tower.

The tree is lit with 700 white lights and is topped with a three foot blue star.  Overall, the top of the tree sits over 90 feet above the ground, making it easily visible to the surrounding area.  At its base, the tree is eight feet wide.

“For many years, the hospital has had a variety of decorations representing a ‘Tree of Lights’ to symbolize the celebration of life,” said Jean Aycock, President and CEO of Oconee Regional Medical Systems.  “This new tree continues that tradition as it fosters the spirit of the holiday season.”

Ms. Aycock also noted that placing the new “Tree of Lights” on top of the hospital will also provide an added benefit.

“It should also help Santa easily spot Milledgeville and the surrounding area as he navigates his way here on Christmas Eve,” she said.

ORMC’s “Tree of Lights” will remain lit throughout the holiday season.
