Nationally renowned motivational speaker John O’Leary will visit Oconee Regional Medical Center on Thursday, May 13th to deliver a powerful message designed to challenge and inspire people to overcome the hurdles they face in life. His appearance, which is free and open to the public, is part of the Hospital Week activities held each year at the medical center.
“Given the challenges our community is facing, we think John O’Leary’s message is especially relevant for all of us, and we invite everyone to come and be inspired by what he has to say,” said Jean Aycock, CEO of Oconee Regional Medical Center.
As a nine year old boy, O’Leary suffered burns over 100% of his body and was given less than a one percent chance of surviving the first night. He endured months in the hospital, dozens of surgeries and years of therapy. Despite the odds, he overcame those challenges to become a college graduate, business owner, a chaplain, an international speaker, community leader, husband and father.
In his presentation, O’Leary reveals it is necessary to embrace personal and professional challenges and transform them into a foundation for outstanding growth. He goes on to illustrate that everyone, regardless the circumstance, has the ability to overcome any obstacle and achieve any dream. He is regularly featured as a speaker by such well known companies and organizations as Wells Fargo Bank, Rotary International, and The Hartford Insurance Company.
O’Leary will deliver his remarks at Oconee Regional Medical Center at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 13th. Members of the community are invited to attend free of charge.
“John inspires his audiences to rise above obstacles, discover passion, and fulfill potential,” Ms. Aycock said. “We think it’s a great message for our staff and our community to hear.”
