The Board of Directors of Jasper Health Services has announced the selection of Jan Gaston as Administrator. She has served as Interim Administrator of the hospital and nursing home since January 2008.

    Jean Aycock, President/CEO of Oconee Regional Health Systems, Inc., says, “We are pleased that Jan has been selected as Administrator. She has done a great job as interim administrator, and we look forward to a bright and exciting future at JMH under her leadership.”

    Steve Jordan, chair of the JHS Board, says, “We are excited about Jan’s new role. Her dedication to JHS is unmatched, and she has served this community for many years. Jan knows this community, has a great working relationship with Oconee Regional Health Systems, and has proven herself while in the role of Interim Administrator.”

    Gaston is a graduate of Auburn University and is a Medical Technologist. She has been employed with the hospital since moving to Monticello in 1980. While Gaston began her career as a Laboratory Technologist, she has previously been involved in Administration, most recently as the Practice Administrator of Primary Care Center.

    She is active in professional and community associations and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Gaston is pianist and stewardship chairperson at Monticello Baptist Church and also serves on the Senior Citizens Advisory Council for the Senior Citizen Center. She has also been active in the Monticello Hurricane Booster Club for many years.

    Gaston’s husband, Joel, is owner of Jasper County Lumber Company and they have two sons, Kevin and Kyle.

    The selection of Gaston was announced after the Board Meeting on Tuesday, July 15, 2008.
