September is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. This year an estimated 186,320 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed and an estimated 28,660 men will die of prostate cancer in the United States. It is the second leading cause of death in men. Learning all they can about their personal risk for prostate cancer and options for testing and treatment will help men make informed decisions about their prostate health.
The 17th annual FREE Prostate Cancer Screening will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 8 - 11:30 a.m. at Oconee Urology, 1217 Columbia Drive, Milledgeville (in the northside Piggly Wiggly shopping center). Exams will be performed by Frederick Stewart, MD, and Boris Velimirovich, MD. This event is sponsored by Oconee Regional Medical Center and 100 Black Men of Milledgeville & Oconee Area. |
