Oconee Regional Healthcare Foundation is offering free mammograms in August for 50 female patients over the age of 40 who have not had a mammogram, had previous breast health concerns or a history of cancer. To be considered for the free mammogram service, please contact Jerry Easterwood with the Compassionate Care Clinic (478-453-0077) to make an appointment.

This program is a combined venture for community healthcare prevention and wellbeing through the efforts of: Jerry Easterwood, Compassionate Care Clinic; Dr. SuzAnne Palmer, Dr. Charles Brown, Katie Webster, nurse practitioner, and Kim Byrd, office manager, with Milledgeville OB/GYN Associates; the Radiology Department and Administration at Oconee Regional Medical Center; Dr. Seth Rion and Dr. Stephen Langston at Piedmont Regional Surgical Associates; Barb Rion and Constance Pitirri from the Oconee Regional Healthcare Foundation; and the American Cancer Society, funding provided in part by the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

“The purpose of this program is to create awareness and preventative healthcare processes around breast cancer for those in our community who need access to healthcare and who would not otherwise receive it,” said Lindsi Abercrombie, the American Cancer Society Community Manager for Baldwin County. “The partnering organizations have worked extremely hard to start this program to provide mammograms for women who would not be able to otherwise afford it and increase awareness of the importance of breast health in Baldwin County.”
