Urologist, Dr. Alisa Berger, Earns Board-Certification
Alisa Berger, MD of Brazosport Urology has earned her Board Certification from the American Board of Urology. Throughout the entire year of 2008, only 249 urologists from across the country were able to successfully pass the certification exam.

The American Board of Urology certifies urologic physicians that have fulfilled specified educational and examination requirements. To become certified, an urologist must be knowledgeable in all areas of urology and trained to evaluate and treat all patients with urological disorders. In addition, board-certified physicians must continually improve themselves and the quality of care they provide by practicing six core competencies: patient care, medical knowledge, practice-based learning and improvement, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, and systems-based practice.

The mission of American Board of Urology is to act for the benefit of the public to insure high quality, safe, efficient and ethical practice of Urology by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists.

Dr. Berger received her medical degree from University of Texas in San Antonio and completed her residency training in general surgery and urology at the University of Connecticut.
