HEALTH PLAN
Brazosport Regional Health System (BRHS) maintains a self-funded Flexible Benefit program. Medical, Dental, Prescription and Vision Plans are available for regular full-time employees beginning the first pay period following 30 days of full-time employment. Part-time employees are eligible for employee only medical benefits beginning the first pay period following 90 days.
Medical Plan
The hospital, active physician staff and local non-medical providers function as BRHS’s PPO. Summary of benefits:
• Option I 80% $600 (Low plan) deductible
• Option II 80% $300 (High plan) deductible
• Option III 80% (EPO Plan) $600 deductible (all services must be accessed through BRHS)
• Pre-certification required on all inpatient admissions.

Dental Plan
Any licensed dental provider may be accessed for services.
• Preventive 100% no deductible
• Basic 80% $50 deductible
• Major 50% $50 deductible
• Maximum benefit $1,250.00 per year per covered dependent
• Orthodontics for children covered at 50%, with a maximum benefit of $1,250.00
Vision Plan
Select a provider from the Provider List and pay only a $10 co-pay for your exam and a $25 co-pay for materials. Limited Reimbursement is also available if you wish to use an out of network provider.
125 FLEX PLAN
This program allows employees to pay for certain benefits with pre-tax dollars. In addition, employees may participate in a medical flexible spending account and a dependent care account. The IRS allows employees to set aside funds for these programs, tax free.
LIFE INSURANCE
Regular full-time employees may elect life insurance. You may also purchase additional life insurance for dependents.
Short – Term & Long-Term Disability
Regular full-time employees may elect Long Term Disability. Two options available. Coverage begins the first pay period following 30 days of full-time employment. After an elimination period of 180 days, your benefits are payable at 40% or 60% of your base monthly earnings up to a monthly maximum of $5,000.00. Short Term Disability is available for purchase to regular full-time employees.
PAID TIME OFF (PTO)
BRHS recognizes that employees may need time away from work for rest and relaxation, to handle personal business, holidays, for health reasons or for the care of a seriously ill dependent. Regular full-time and part-time employees begin accruing PTO upon hire. Benefits are earned after a 90-day eligibility period, however, you may borrow PTO during this time for recognized holidays. Full-time employees can accrue up to 22 days within their first year of employment. Accrual rate increases with tenure with a maximum accrual of 40 days.
RETIREMENT PLUS
Retirement Plus is a voluntary tax deferred annuity program which all employees regardless of employment status may participate. The first of the month following your date of hire, you may contribute between 1-100% of your pay, up to $15,500. You can select among many investment options ING provides to build your retirement fund. Employees who participate will have a percentage of their funds matched by BRHS.
• BRHS will match 100% up to the first 1% of your contributions.
• Employees are always 100% vested in their contributions.
• Vesting for employer contributions is after 3 years of service.
TUITION ASSISTANCE
After one year of service, full-time employees may access tuition assistance of up to $3000 per calendar year and part-time employees may access tutition assistance up to $1500 per calendar year. Individuals must pursue a course of study through an accredited college or university for a career or enhancement to positions available in the hospital setting.

Shift Differentials – Shift differentials is an extra compensation pay for employees who work weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays according to job classification.
Fitness Center Membership – BRHS will cover 100% of your fitness membership to the Lake Jackson Recreation Center. The facility has 65,500 square feet of family fun and fitness with two indoor pools, a full size gymnasium, locker room, nursery, and an outdoor playground. Attend the recreation center eight times a month and you are bill free.
Continuing Education – Education programs are available for all hospital employees. It’s our priority to deliver top-quality education to meet the needs of our health care professionals.
Cafeteria Discounts – A 35% discount will be provided on all food purchases at the Brazos Café. Our newly remodeled café offers sizzling hot food right off the grill, home cooked meals, fresh soup and salad bar, and mouth-watering desserts.
