QHR (Quorum Health Resources, LLC) announces an advanced Hospital Web Template and the addition of Web site publishing and hosting services.

In collaboration with 35 affiliated hospitals, QHR has developed a Hospital Web Template and publishing strategy that will save hospitals valuable time and resources in creating and publishing a professional Web site to establish an Internet presence. Among other things, the strategy includes the template product, several publishing assistance options and Web site hosting services.

The Hospital Web Template is a Web site publishing template specifically designed for hospital use. The Template includes all of the functions a community hospital needs in a comprehensive, easy-to-use, turnkey offering. It contains flexible features and options, a user interface that software novices can understand and an integrated help function. The Template organizes and publishes all of the content collected by a hospital. Hospitals that choose the Template minimize up-front investment by eliminating Web site development cost. The Template will be continually enhanced and upgraded by QHR to meet the growing needs of its client facilities.

The Template delivers a customizable Web site, creating a unique Web presence for each hospital. It contains many valuable features that a hospital can choose to use or ignore. If a hospital chooses not to use a feature, that feature is hidden from site visitors. Once a hospital has selected the features it wants to enable, selected the feature alternatives it wants to use and added its headers, graphics and content, the resulting site ends up being both unique and powerful. Key features available on the Template include:

  1. A news feed located on the home page for current news, information and events at your hospital.*
    • A library for articles and press releases that are automatically archived from the news feed.*
  2. Interactive maps and driving directions to the hospital using MapBlast! integration or your own maps.
  3. Multiple department and service directory options:
    • Option 1: A database containing information about and photographs of each department and service.
      • The database can be configured to offer an easy-to-use hospital phone, fax or e-mail directory that can be sorted multiple ways by Web site visitors.
    • Option 2: A single-page directory with links to informational pages about each department and service.
  4. Multiple Internet nursery options:
    • Option 1: A nursery database that provides Web users with multiple ways to search for a newborn.*
    • Option 2: A password secured nursery database that provides Web users with multiple ways to search for a newborn.
  5. Multiple physician directory options:
    • Option 1: A physician database that provides multiple ways to search for a physician.*
    • Option 2: Physician listings grouped by specialty that are linked using a specialty index page.
  6. A directory of owned facilities and affiliates (clinics, physician's offices, etc.).*
  7. Multiple job posting options:
    • Option 1: A job posting database that uses individual job summary forms and provides Web users with multiple ways to search for a position.*
    • Option 2: A basic job-posting table.
  8. An on-line application-for-employment feature that collects resumes in a separate database for use by the human resource department.
  9. Patient Greetings electronic cards.
  10. A Messages to the CEO feature for customized messages to the CEO.
  11. Customized link navigation to other healthcare-related resources on the Web.

    • Visitors can click to a twelve-month calendar navigator so they can quickly jump to the month or year of their choice.
    • Visitors can click on a button to jump to the current day or to an event list.
    • A hospital can create appealing and informative electronic flyers about hospital events and link them to the calendar.
    • Repeating events can be created by day, day of week, week of month, etc., and published for as many days, weeks, months, or years as needed.
  13. A dynamic site map that is automatically updated as pages are added, removed or re-indexed.

    • The site headers and footers can be enhanced by adding a hospital logo or other design elements.
    • Several color themes are available for the site headers and footers and standard table backgrounds.
  16. The following features to keep most site navigation to a minimum of one-to-three clicks.
    • Home, Contact Us and Site Map links are located at the top and bottom of every page.
    • A standard menu is on every page.
      • The standard menu can contain up to twenty links and be displayed either horizontally or vertically.

  19. Editor level security access for those maintaining the Web site.
Feature Footnote: * = Available in both JAVA and HTML formats.
Once the content is gathered, hospitals can select from the following site publishing options:
  1. QHR's Information Technology Group will create the site using content delivered by the hospital, then transfer the update process back to the hospital; or,
  2. QHR will create and update the site on an ongoing basis, using content delivered by the hospital.
In addition to the direct benefits provided by the Template, QHR provides tools to help hospitals create their web site. A flowchart helps hospital personnel understand the layout of a typical hospital Web site and a checklist helps them pull together the wealth of content and graphics necessary to publish an attractive, interesting and informative Web site. QHR's experience, derived from taking our hospitals from paper to the Internet, serves as an invaluable resource.

The time saved by the Template and related support services are only part of the beauty of QHR's approach. Hospitals that choose QHR will benefit from economies of scale by spreading development costs for enhancements over the entire group of users. Features and enhancements will be added to the Web site based on feedback from our affiliated hospitals. In addition, QHR will negotiate with specialized Strategic Service Partners to offer optional, value-added tools and features to supplement the Template.

QHR will host hospital Web sites using its Internet servers located in a secured environment in Plano, TX corporate office. The servers are tied to the Internet using high-speed T1 connections.
