The following are two options offered to display your physician directory. This page would not be included in the hospital's Web site, but was inserted to demonstrate both of the directory options. On the final site, the selected directory would be displayed when the Physician Directory menu item was selected.
Option 1 – Directory using a Lotus Notes database that contains the individual physician pages. This is a better choice for facilities with many physicians.

Benefits: The physicians can be easily sorted by any criteria the hospital chooses. Separate sorts chosen by the hospital can be displayed on the physician directory page as hyper-links. Visitors can search for physicians using any keyword they choose. The links are automatically generated, which makes this type of directory easier to create and maintain. |
Option 2 – This option uses a separate HTML page for each specialty rather than each physician. When a specialty is opened, all physicians under that specialty along with their photos are displayed.
| Drawbacks: The physicians can only be accessed by specialty (they cannot be sorted any other way). This type of directory is more difficult to maintain since the links are not automatically generated. Formatting can be rather difficult to maintain.
